Barbara L. Young

Barbara L. Young, 74, Anderson, passed away March 18, 2016, at St. Vincent Seton Hospital in Indianapolis after a several month illness.

She was born October 29, 1941, in Anderson, the daughter of the late Henry and Louise Diedring. She was a 1959 graduate from Anderson High School and received her Master of Arts in Education from Ball State University. Barbara was a kindergarten teacher for 34 years teaching at Washington, Roosevelt, 25th Street and Robinson schools retiring in 2000. She was a life long and active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her two children, Joshua (Christy) Young of Noblesville and Meghan (Ben) Grim of Middletown; four grandchildren, Melina & Braden Grim and Jackson & Neva Rose Young; two brothers, Ronald (Ann) Diedring of St. Augustine, FL and Henry (Carla) Diedring of Anderson ; her niece and goddaughter, April (Ryan) Dock; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Jeff) Harris & Hawk, Casey Diedring, Nickey Rutherford, Heather Young, Nancy Graves, Chase Kisling, and several great nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Dallas E. Young.

Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Matt Manning officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory and one hour prior to the service at the church.
