Barbara Jean Layton

Barbara Jean Layton, 91, Noblesville, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020, at her residence in Noblesville following an extended illness.She was born on October 11, 1928, in Noblesville, to Ralph Waterman and Lela (Creekmore ) Waterman .Barbara was graduated from Fortville High School.She was a Homemaker her adult life caring for her family, and helping on the family farm.Barbara Jean was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel. She loved to cook, garden and quilt. She is survived by her children, Deborah (Jack) Davis of Noblesville, Gary (Judy) Layton of Anderson, and Tim (Wendy) Layton of Noblesville; two brothers, John (Joyce) Waterman of New Castle, Jake (Sandy) Waterman of Noblesville; three sisters, June Landis of Noblesville, Janet Wilson of Noblesville, and Jane (Ed) Christman of Noblesville; grandchildren, Mandy, Rob, Carol, Audrey, Kevin and Becca; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Layton; siblings, Jerry, Jack, Joe Waterman, Joy Johnson, and Julia Ann Sigler.Due to Covid-19 restrictions and public safety a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.A private graveside service will take place.
