Barbara J. Yunker

Barbara J. Yunker, 80, of Anderson, passed away at Lifes Journeys of Avon following an extended illness. She was born August 27, 1939 in Jolliet, IL to the late Peter and Gladys (Paynter) Potter. The family moved to the Anderson area and she lived here most of her life. She worked for over 30 years as a case worker for the Department of Family Services. One of her hobbies was pottery, but her real passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom called her “Mom”. She is survived by her son, Brian (Julie) Yunker of Anderson; grandchildren, Tristan (fiancé, Amber) and Clinton (Tara) Yunker, Veronica and Brandon Stephany and Cali Killian; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jaylynn, Hailey and Aubrey Hill, Kierra and Kaylene Yunker, Makayla Ellingwood, Sarah Killian and Isabella Stephany; brother, Ron (Cathie) Potter; sisters, Yvonne Selby and Patricia Krentz; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Yunker; daughter Pamela Stephany; brothers James and Larry Potter; and sister, Dorothy Potter. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
