Barbara J. Byer

Barbara J. Byer, 76, Markleville, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at her home following a brief illness.She was born on June 10, 1941, in Goshen, Indiana to William and Etta Mae (Loveall) Rumple.Barbara was graduated from Lapel High School in 1959.She retired from Crandalls Physical Arts Center in Pendleton.Barbara enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and had made a blanket for each of her children and grandchildren and many others as well. She was a great supporter of her children and grandchildren in their sporting and other extracurricular activities. She is survived by husband of 57 years, Richard; three children, Chris (wife, Tina) Byer of Markleville, Penny (husband, Gary) Gustin of Pendleton, and Lori Sparks of Markleville; seven grandchildren, Nathan Byer, Destiny (husband, Todd) Henderson, Kolby (wife, Allison) Gustin, Kenzie Gustin, Conner Gustin, Aaron Brizendine, and Austin Brizendine; three great-grandchildren, Kenna Henderson, Liam Henderson, and Jonathan Gustin; one sister, Margaret (husband, Don) Hughes of Shelbyville; and countless friends.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor Jesse Flood officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2017, at Scott E.
