Barbara Caplinger

Barbara Ellen Caplinger, 94, of Anderson passed away on September 30, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield. She was born March 1, 1927 in Washington, Indiana to the late William and Alta (Barber) Gaither. Barbara worked for a company that created wet suits for the Navy for over 20 years until they closed their doors. She then went on to work for nursing homes and she eventually, became a traveling hospice nurse for her own company. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. Barbara was an avid seamstress and could crotchet, knit, and quilt. She created many baby blankets and quilts. She adored dogs, especially her little Cindy Lou. She collected red Fostoria Coin Glass, Eisenberg Art Deco Jewelry, Butterfly pins, and different statues. She loved going to flea markets, traveling, and butterflies. Barbara will be dearly missed by her son, Michael (Cheryl) Armes; her grandson, Michael Robert Armes; her granddaughter, Cassie Armes; and her great-grandson, Shane Michael Armes. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, William “Billy” Armes and David Armes. In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, no services have been scheduled. Cremation rites have been accorded.
