Barbara A. Rector

Barbara A. Rector, 82, of Pendleton, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her residence after a sudden illness.

She was born September 30, 1933 in Anderson to the late Robert and Catherine (Huberti) Reddy and lived in Madison County all of her life. She retired from Kmart where she worked as a clerk for 20 years.

Barbara was a 4H leader for 10 years and was an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, serving on various parish committees.

She is survived by her children, Rodney (Joanne) Rector of Greenwood, Thomas (Patricia) Rector of Anderson, Tracie (Clyde) Briner of DeWitt, MI, Catharine (Randy) Erwin of TN and Tina (Thomas) Barrett of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Ruth Reddy of Pendleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Rector; sister, Veronica and brother, Paul.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Msgr. Robert Sell officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.

Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
