Ardella S. McCord, 81, Anderson, passed away December 7, 2019, at Rawlins House in Pendleton after a brief illness. She was born February 18, 1938, in Elwood, the daughter of the late Roy and Deloris (Paxton) Truitt. Ardella graduated from Elwood High School in 1956, lived in Alexandria and moved to Anderson in 1983. She worked at Fashion Bug Clothing Store for over 20 years and had attended St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved going to the casino, watching Western and Sci Fi movies, collecting angels, owls, and taking care of her cat, Casino. Ardella is survived by two children, Carla (Henry) Diedring of Anderson and Tony (Kathy) McCord of Pendleton, three grandchildren, April (Ryan) Dock, Clinton (Shauna) McCord and Caitlynn (Kurt) Conner, one great grandson, Barrick McCord, one niece and nephew, several great nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Casino. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nina Owens and one nephew. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Bob Hendrickson officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richland Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society.
