Annabelle Humbles, 87, Indianapolis, former Lapel and Fortville resident, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
She was born on March 10, 1921, in Marion County, Indiana to Hobart and Gladys (Hite) Sherman.
Annabelle retired from Delco Remy after 31 years of employment.
While living in Lapel, she attended Ford Street United Methodist Church and she was a member of Motor Maids
She is survived by one granddaughter, Angie Lloyd (husband, David) Writcher of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; one grandson, Brad Richardson of Tennessee; one great-grandson, David Writcher; one sister, Mabel Louise Brattain of Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Sherman of Ingalls and Martha Brake of St. Louis, MO; a step-daughter, Sharon (husband, Louis) Myers of Odon; two step-grandsons, Zachary Myers and Kyle Myers; two step-great-grandchildren, Lucas Myers and Audra Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Humbles; her daughter, Janet Lloyd.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Pastor Larry Cooper of the Emmanuel Holiness Church in Greenfield officiating.
There will be no visitation.
