Anna Belle McCord, 97, Anderson, passed away March 19, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield after an extended illness. She was born February 2, 1920, in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of the late Fred and Marie (Smith) Scheideman. She moved to Anderson in 1934 and graduated from Anderson High School in 1938. She worked for over 23 years as a secretary for the Anderson Community Schools. She and her husband once co- owned Tupman’s Market. Anna Belle was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anderson, Sigma Alpha Chi Sorority and active in several social and civic clubs. She is survived by two children, Steve (Lucinda) McCord and Mary (Steve) Watson all of Anderson; grandchildren, Dr. Margaux (Dirk) Fraundorfer, Adam (Sara) McCord, Roslynn (Dustin) Dixon, Rochelle (Amed) Ayoub and Alicia Rector & Chris Conklin; great grandchildren, Hanna, Layla and Alexa Ayoub, Adrienne and Evan Fraundorfer, Madelyn, Carter and Colten McCord, Jaxon Dixon, Arianna Rector and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. McCord; a son Fred McCord; two brothers and a sister. The family would like to thank the staff of Miller’s Merry Manor for taking such good care of their mother. Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
