Anita Gayle Kirby, 78, of Lapel, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following a sudden illness.
She was born on March 22, 1944, in Noblesville, Indiana, to John Goff and Ruth (Neal) Goff.
Anita graduated from Lapel High School class of 1962. She retired after 34 years of service at Delco Remy, Divison of General Motors.
She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel. Anita previously was a girls softball coach and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, the outdoors, and sweets. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her children, Scott (Dodie) Kirby of Wilkinson and Andrea (Gary) Baldwin of Lapel. One sister-in-law, Sue Goff of Greenfield. Four grandchildren, Lindsey Kirby, Bradley (Amanda) Kirby, Alicia (Brett) Bays, and Gary (Hyder) Baldwin. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Alivia, Boden, Beckett, and Calvin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Jackie Goff.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051, with Dave Goff Officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lapel Community Food Pantry.
