Amy Joan (Vores) Sczesny, 69, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021. She was born December 6, 1951 in Anderson. Amy was a licensed clinical social worker having received her degree from Ball State & her masters from IUPUI. As a social worker she was the Director of A Caring Place Adult Day Services for Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Prior to social work she was an accomplished cosmetologist and owned her own business. She was a devout member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Despite all of her accomplishments, family meant the most to her, especially her beloved grandchildren. Amy is survived by her mother, Imelda (Kolenda) Vores; children, Mark (wife, Elizabeth) Sczesny, Sara (husband, George) Sczesny, Michael (wife, Nellie) Sczesny, & Erin (husband, David) Milligan; grandchildren, Gabriel Milligan, Clara Breece, Gracie Milligan, Triston Sczesny, and one on the way; siblings, Lawrence Vores, Charles (wife, Dottie) Vores, Nancy (husband, Ron) Bollman, Nick Vores, Patty (husband, Mark) Hughes, & Margie (husband, David) Irwin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Allison Urbine Vores; and brother, Tim Vores. A private Mass of Christian Burial will at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Monsignor Robert Sell III officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 Thursday at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Due to recent COVID-19 mandates, a limited number of guests are allowed entry at a time, masks are required, and social distancing must be practiced.
