Alta Maud Crawford, 90, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 27, 1930 in Livingston, Tennessee to the late, Raymond & Nova (Upchurch) Coffman. Alta was a seamstress at Community Hospital for over 28 years. She sewed sheets, gowns, and other items to bring comfort to not only new mothers but also those who passed, and items for different departments. Alta loved to sew and cook and was a wonderful lady. Alta is survived by her sister, Judy Perry; daughter-in-law, Karen Crawford; four grandchildren, Kristopher Crawford, Kerry Crawford Sullivan, Roark (wife, Katie) Crawford, and Sarah Walden Crawford; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Crawford; children, Robert Donald Crawford & Cheryl Crawford Arnold; and sister, Anna Adams. Services will be at 1:30 Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to Premier Hospice and the care they showed Alta.
