Alma B. (Young) Dixon

Alma B. Dixon, 93, of Anderson, passed away May 27, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 9, 1923 in Jennings County, the daughter of James and Mary Emma (Brockman) Young. Alma was a member of the Paris Crossing High School Class of 1941. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she was played the piano. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hodges of Anderson; grandsons, Kevin (Teresa) Hodges of Anderson and Mark (Rhonda) Hodges of Shirley; great-grandchildren, Austin (Sicily) Hodges, Evan Hodges, Alex Hodges, Matthew Hodges and Emily Hodges; step-grandchildren, Austin (Heather) Parrish and Christian Parrish; sister, Jean Davis of Paris Crossing; and one niece, Sherry (Ronnie) Powell of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, Walter Dixon; sister, Ella Mae Farris; and nephew, Eddy Farris. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
