Allie T Smith

Allie T Smith, 77, Markleville, passed away Tuesday June 1, 2004, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on January 28, 1927, in Anderson, IN to Norman and Hallie (Covington) Smith. He was a World War II Army veteran and he retired in 1990 from Coca Cola in Anderson after 46 years of employment. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jo (Stanford) Smith; one daughter, Kathy Sue Barbee of Anderson; and three grandsons, Brandon, David, and Corbin. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Ricky J. Barbee; and two brothers, Charles D. Smith and Wilbur L. Smith. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with Rev. Larry Barkdull officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, 707 West 8th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016.
