Allen 'Skip' Lee Turner

Allen Lee "Skip" Turner, 85, of Lapel, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness.
He was born March 5, 1936, in Lapel, Indiana to Harold Lee Turner and Frances (Graham) Turner.
Allen graduated from Lapel High School in 1954.
He retired in 1999 from Delco Remy, Division of General Motors after 44 years.
Allen served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. He was a member of the Lapel American Legion, Post 212, where he was past Commander. He also served many years on the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his three sons, David (Tamera) Turner of Lapel, Ronald Turner of Noblesville, and Robert (Denise) Turner of Lapel; three sisters, Glenda Grant of MA, Linda White of VA, and Norma (Larry) Crowder of Frankton; grandchildren, Jessica Dunn, Danielle Turner, Elizabeth Scott, Tara Hollandsworth, Shannon Bills, Molly, and Jon Springer; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was also survived by several other family members, and several nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Turner, and a sister, Becky Jackson.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Brookside Cemetery, 2900 Brookside Road Lapel, Indiana 46051.
Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post, 212.
Memorial Contribution may be made to the Lapel American Legion Post, 212.
