Alice Marie Bodenhorn

Alice Marie Bodenhorn, 86, of Lapel, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2023, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.

She was born on June 17, 1937, in Madison County, Indiana to Floyd Girt and Evelyn (Gilley) Girt.

Alice graduated from Markleville High School, Class of 1956.

She was primarily a farmer's wife and homemaker her entire life. Alice was a faithful member of Ford Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Alice was an Indiana basketball fan and loved to watch basketball.

Alice is survived by her children, Cathy (husband, Daniel) Boone of Lapel, Joyce (husband, Brent) Judge of Lapel, David (wife, Donna) Bodenhorn of Noblesville and Karen (husband, Clay) Parkison of Lapel; two siblings, Floyd "Bud" Girt of Anderson and William (wife, Sheryol) Girt of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Justin Coomer, James Bodenhorn, Joey Bodenhorn, Devon Bodenhorn, Damon Bodenhorn, Amy Turner, Ethan Gallagher, Samuel Parkison, Bode Judge, Brode Judge, Todd Boone, and Gabriela Tom; and eight great-grandchildren, Owen Tayden, Tayleigh, Addison, Harper, Grayson, Parker and Camden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Bodenhorn and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Ford Street United Methodist Church, 925 North Ford Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051. Pastor Jill Moffett will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday at the church.
