Alan Spegal, 72, of Pendleton, Indiana died unexpectedly December 9, 2016 in New Mexico.He was born January 25, 1944 in Anderson, Indiana and was a Lapel and Pendleton resident most of his life.Alan was a lifelong farmer and drove a school bus for South Madison Community Schools for 24 years.He was a 1962 graduate of Lapel High School and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.;Alan was a member of AMVETS; NRA Life Member; National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association; National Street Rod Association; and Pendleton Emergency Ambulance Service.Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Noland) Spegal; daughters, Christi Atkins (Danny) and Heidi Spegal (John Quarrier); grandchildren, Calvin Quarrier, Olivia Quarrier, Julia Quarrier, Kayla Atkins and Keri Utter (Zach); three great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Wilken (Ernie); and brothers, Gary Spegal (Darlene) and Travis Spegal.He was preceded in death his parents, Ivan W. and Audria M. (Scales) Spegal.The family requests that those attending the visitation and services wear casual dress, bib overalls or work clothes.Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Jay Harvey officiating. Cremation will follow services.Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at Lahm Chapel.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to Pendleton Emergency Ambulance, P.O. Box 165, Pendleton, IN 46064.
