Alan Cousert, 59, of Lenexa, KS, formerly of Anderson, passed away Aug. 13, 2018. He was born February 9, 1959, in Washington, IN to Earl and Bonnie Cousert. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a Master’s degree from Keller Graduate School of Management in Management Information Systems. He was employed with Quest Diagnostics. He enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing and woodworking. Alan was an Eagle Scout and a longtime member of Ovid Community Church. He was also involved in the Foundry Church in Lenexa, Kansas. Alan is survived by his mother, Bonnie Cousert, sisters, Jill (Richard) Brown and Debra (Dale) Newby; nieces, Michelle Newby, Valerie Newby, Faith Brown and Martina Brown; aunts, uncles, cousins; and a longtime girlfriend, Becky Fields, of Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Cousert. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Ovid Community Church, 793 East 600 South, Anderson, IN., with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon at the church. A visitation and service will begin at 1p.m., CDT, Monday, at the Providence Primitive Baptist Church, Francisco, Ind., prior to the burial at the Providence Cemetery.
