Adma Wakim, Age 90, died on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Northview Health and Living. Adma was born in the town of Mieh-Mieh near Sidon, Lebanon. In 1953, she married George Yusuf Wakim. They had four children. She and her husband fled Lebanon in 1985 after their town was destroyed in sectarian fighting and they emigrated to the United States. Here, in Anderson, Indiana, they built a new life. Adma was a skilled seamstress and was the owner/operator of Adma's Alteration for many years.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Khalil Wakim (Dana) of Anderson, Joseph Wakim (Fadia) of Dallas, Texas; her daughters, Norma Bousaba (Nadim) of Melbourne, Australia, Hala Wakim of Montreal, Canada; brother, Faris Assaad (Nadia) of Beirut, Lebanon; sister, Miladi Abu-Saab of Beirut, Lebanon; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hanna and Zeinah Assaad; her husband, George Wakim; and her brothers, George and Yusuf Assaad.
The family also expresses much gratitude to her former neighbors, Dennis and Neena Bryant for their many years of care and concern.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
Services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, Anderson, Indiana.
